OUR SOLAR SYSTEM

Definition: our solar system is a collection of planets with their moon in orbit round the sun, together with smaller bodies such as asteroid, meteorites and comet . The planets of solar system are Mercury, Venus, Earth,Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune

TOP FACTS :

* Everything in the solar system revolves around the sun. The sun is a star - a massive ball of hot gas that gives light and heat.

*The closest planet around the sun is Mercury and the farthest one is Neptune.

* The biggest planet is Jupiter and the smallest planet is Mercury.

* The Earth is the only planet where creatures are living.

*The Earth take one day to complete a rotation.

*The Earth takes 365 days to complete a circular orbit around the sun.

*Not everything in the solar system moves directly around the sun,  The moon orbits around the earth.

Did you know:

* The sun is 93 million miles from the Earth.

*The Earth is always spinning around- sometimes from where you stand on the earth you can see the sun (the day time) and sometimes the part of the earth where you are facing away from the sun (the night time).

*All the planets and the sun are round like a ball.

*There are lot of difference between planets-some planet like earth is made of rock and some planets like Jupiter is made of gas , the hottest planet is Venus where the average temperature is 733 K and the coldest is Uranus where the  average temperature is -493K.

*Mars is sometimes called the "red planet " because the rock that is made from are red.
